Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa daging kambing memiliki kandungan lemak tak jenuh yang paling tinggi dibanding daging babi, sapi, dan ayam. Dibanding ketiga macam daging tersebut, daging kambing juga mengandung asam lemak jenuh terendah, kadar sodium terendah, dan kadar potassium tertinggi. Artinya, dibandingkan daging babi, sapi, dan ayam, daging kambing paling aman untuk dikonsumsi.
